IPB Prepares IPB Students to Dive in the Digital World

IPB University has launched education 4.0, where digitalization is the main focus. To support IPB graduates ready for the industrial revolution 4.0, the Directorate of Student Affairs and Career Development IPB held the IPB 2019 Career Week. One of the series of events was Work in Digital Companies Simulation Applying which was filled by speakers from BukaLapak and Imooji at the Andi Hakim Nasution Auditorium, Dramaga IPB Campus , Bogor (8/4).

The first speaker served as the OpenLapak Learning Manager, Hendra Etri Gunawan. Hendra is also an alumnus of the Faculty of Economics and Management of IPB. After being invited by one of his colleagues, Hendra joined BukaLapak. Many things he learned while working at BukaLapak, one of which was the ability to adjust to the differences around him. In addition, working at start-up made Hendra understand that now it had entered the conceptual era. "In the past people were proud to work in large companies, now people prefer to work in start-ups where freedom is given," he said.

Hendra also explained that to work in the millennial generation, young people must know how to use social media to explore their abilities. This provision will be used for post-campus life. "What products do you want to sell, that's what matters. "If your product is good, you don't have to talk much, it will definitely be bought by people," he added.

Muji Rusman had served as product director of Corel before finally deciding to build Imooji. The initial idea of ??building this start-up was the still weak media for promoting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia. For Muji, promotional media still belong to large companies that have costs. Although social media has been widely used, the opportunity to promote MSMEs is still very limited.

Departing from here, Muji built Imooji, a design service provider for MSME owners so that they can be promoted and MSME owners can monitor how many internet users access their products.

"Millennials are the generation that is given the ease of internet coverage. For this reason, digital is something that cannot be separated. Using it effectively and efficiently is a task for the young generation of the nation's successors, "he said. (ASK / Zul)
