IPB University Accompany Musi Banyuasin Regency Government to Develop Modern SPR


The Institute for Research and Community Service, IPB University (LPPM IPB) has successfully developed the People's Animal Husbandry School (SPR) in Musi Banyuasin (Muba) Regency from 2014 until 2018. This is evidenced by the presence of the Sungai Lilin SPR. The LPPM Team of IPB University was represented by the Deputy Head of LPPM for Research, Prof. Dr. drh. Agik Suprayogik and Chair of the SPR, Prof. Muladno was received directly by the Regent of Muba Regency, H. Dodi Reza Alex in the framework of Socializing the School of People's Animal Husbandry (SPR) and Innovation of Research Results at IPB University, Monday (4/3) in Muba Regency.

The Regent of Muba, H. Dodi Reza Alex expressed his gratitude to IPB University because starting in 2018, Musi Banyuasin (Muba) already had an SPR which was centered in Sungai Lilin District, and currently has produced cattle fattening and pilot innovation products in the form of biourine fertilizer comes from cow urine. "In the future this model SPR will be replicated in other regions and for SPRs that have advanced or graduated will be developed towards modern farms. All of these efforts will be entrusted to the Team from IPB to develop them, "said Dodi.

Dodi instructed his staff to move quickly, and followed up immediately with the creation of a cooperation agreement with IPB through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which has now expired. The Regent of Muba hopes that cooperation with the IPB will be realized soon, so that it can develop SPR activities in other sub-districts in Musi Banyuasin.

Prof. Muladno explained that IPB greatly appreciated the steps and support given by the Regent of Muba to farmers and farmers in Musi Banyuasin. "The support given by Regent Dodi Reza is very maximal, especially now that the Sungai Lilin SPR has been able to produce its own products and this has become a pilot. "We are very open and very supportive of all the visions conveyed by the Regent, Dodi Reza, to develop SPR in other regions well," said Prof. Muladno.

While Deputy Head of Research Division at LPPM IPB University, Prof. Agik Suprayogik said that IPB welcomed the initiative and commitment of Musi Banyuasin Regency to involve IPB University in developing SPR. "Hopefully this will be a good start, for the role of IPB's LPPM in Muba in response to the spirit of the Muba Regent who has been waiting for his presence in the middle of the farmers," said Prof. Agik.
