IPB Signed a MoU with KemenkopUKM to Promote Cooperation and UMKM

As an effort to advance cooperatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia, IPB University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises of the Republic of Indonesia. The signing was implemented on Wednesday (3/20) at the Auditorium of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, Jakarta.

"IPB has a vision to become a techno-sociopreneur university, so technopreneurship and sociopreneurship are now one of the main priorities developed by IPB. Therefore, to create techno and sociopreneur, IPB focuses on developing capabilities through student programs, "said Dr. Arif Satria, Rector of IPB.

Through this collaboration with the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, Dr. Arif Satria hopes that IPB can increase the number of alumni engaged in the field of entrepreneurship, especially socioentrepreneurship.

According to Arif Satria, socioentrepreneur is important because it is not only concerned with business profits that need to be considered also concerning the social interests of the community. "IPB is trying to design and prepare its alumni to become reliable and quality entrepreneurs," said Arif Satria.

On the other hand, IPB also supports advancing cooperatives and MSMEs in Indonesia. This commitment was proven by the launch of the Social Business Cooperative and Initiative (COSBI) at the same time. The main focus of COSBI is the development center of cooperatives and MSMEs that are synergized with business.

Meliadi Sembiring, Secretary of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, positively welcomed IPB's efforts in advancing cooperatives and MSMEs in Indonesia.

"Technosociopreneurship must be one thing that must be developed in the future. "Social entrepreneurs are compatible with cooperatives, so we together make it happen," said Meliadi.

According to Meliadi, being a humanist entrepreneur is important. In addition to being profitable in business, on the same side it can also discuss the economy so that it can lift its economy.

"It fits most in our country with a large population, if we do not associate with a large population, we will develop it for a long time." Therefore, we want to develop together, "said Meliadi. (Jhn)
