Care IPB Trained a Bachelor of Community Assistant
To increase the capacity of undergraduate community assistants, the Center for Conflict Resolution Studies (Care), the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), IPB University, a routine training degree that has lasted for the past five years. This training was held at the PSP3 LPPM IPB Meeting Room, Baranangsiang IPB Campus (4-6/3). This training is expected to be able to open up new insights while exchanging experiences and information in mentoring activities to increase the spirit and performance of community facilitators.
"CARE LPPM IPB has collaborated with Pertamina EP to assist several community empowerment programs since 2014. The location of mentoring is spread across 13 villages, in five districts and two provinces. Namely Karawang Regency, Bekasi Regency, Indramayu Regency, Bandung Regency, Majalengka Regency (West Java Province) and Gresik Regency (East Java Province). Each assisted village was accompanied by a companion scholar. This training was attended by 15 assistant graduates and Care research assistants at LPPM IPB," said Adi Firmansyah, Chair of the Community Empowerment Division of CARE LPPM IPB.
In addition to indoor training, participants also visited Sabisa Farm in order to share agricultural business development and a visit to Katulampa Colorful Village as a bechmarking model for community-based village tourism programs.
"I am very happy and enjoy working with the community. I can share knowledge and knowledge with farmers in the village, and often I learn a lot from them," said Rima, one of the community assistant scholars of CARE LPPM IPB who had worked as a companion in the village for almost five years.
"The existence of this training increases my insight and skills in community development, while increasing my enthusiasm to work with the community," said Rima.
This training presented Prof. Dr. Sumardjo with material entitled "Participatory Techniques in Community Assistance" and Prof. Dr. Rizal Syarief, S. DESS with material entitled "Innovation and Entrepreneurship". Both are permanent professors of IPB. (RYS)
