IPB Opens Doctoral Program in Economics


Rector of the Institut Pertanian Bogor University (IPB), Dr. Arif Satria collaborates with PT. Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SMI) for the teaching factory learning process. The signing of this memorandum of understanding was carried out by Dr. Arif Satria and President Director of PT. Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero), Emma Sri Martini, witnessed by the Vice Rector for Cooperation and Information Systems, Prof. Dodik Nurochmat, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Dr. Nunung Nuryartono at the Dramaga Campus of IPB, Bogor (1/29).

The main points of cooperation include education, academic infrastructure, research on Indonesia's socio-economic impact, publication of scientific journals, community service programs, Thematic KKN and certified internship programs.

"This collaboration is important to synergize education with reality, so the learning process is similar to industry or teaching factory. The principle model of agriculture 4.0 will also be implemented immediately by IPB in collaboration with one of the state-owned enterprises (BUMN). In the near future, we will soon implement a model of precision agricultural innovation to develop research and development. In this era we need synergy and collaboration, "said Dr. Arif Satria.

Meanwhile, according to the Managing Director of PT. Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero), Emma Sri Martini, this collaboration is carried out because the education sector is very important to map research on the economy and sustainable development.

On this occasion, the Rector also launched a doctoral study program in Economics, Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM). The Economics Doctoral Study Program was opened by considering the potential demand for economic experts from various private and government agencies in Indonesia.

In its implementation, the Economics Doctoral Study Program always strives to provide superior quality education with a family of Doctoral Studies Programs reflected in the strength or distinctiveness of the curriculum. The S3 Economics Economics Program curriculum is designed to provide a very strong theoretical foundation, the latest economic research methodology and applied fields that are relevant to Indonesia's economic development needs.

"Based on the curriculum that has been designed, there are several main concentrations offered by the Doctoral Program in Economics, namely monetary economics, international economics, regional economics and development and Islamic economics. "These concentrations are very relevant to the needs of Indonesia's economic development," said the Dean of FEM IPB, Dr. Nunung Nuryartono. (NR)
