The expedition, often known as the Expedition of Fisherman Friends (EFF), is routinely carried out by Himafarin every year. "EFF activities are carried out as a form of community service for Himafarin as a friend of fishermen," said Fikri Kurniawan as Chair of Himafarin FPIK IPB University in 2018/2019.

Himafarin was also active in holding talkshows and competitions with the theme of capture fisheries. "Becoming an administrator of a professional association that has the jargon 'we want you to be one of us, to help the fishermen and to feed the hungry world' gives me a real experience to jump right in the middle of a fisherman's life. in order to educate fishermen about important things that the management of Himafarin learned during the lecture," concluded Fikri.
