LPPM IPB University Allocate SLAK Facilitators in Ringginanyar Village, Blitar Regency

Facilitator of the Creative Agro Field Station (SLAK) of the Institute of Research and Community Empowerment (LPPM) IPB University who was stationed in Ringginanyar Village, Blitar Regency, East Java, began carrying out their duties.
The LPPM IPB University Team, led by the Deputy Head of LPPM for Community Service, Prof. Sugeng Heri Suseno, was welcomed by the Head of the Livestock and Fisheries Service Office, Drh Adi Andika, MSi, Secretary of the Livestock and Fisheries Service, Drh Yuda Satya Wardhana, and Head of the Agriculture and Food office Ir Wawan on Tuesday (12/11)
Prof. Sugeng said, for two weeks the SLAK facilitators who were stationed in Ringginanyar Village would identify agricultural problems in the village.
“The facilitators are expected to identify the problems that are happening in Ringginanyar village, especially regarding poultry and agricultural commodities such as chili, eggs, eggplants and tomatoes. “In addition, the facilitator is required to create a local-based animal feed that is easily obtained,” he said.
He added that lecturers with their respective expertise will add knowledge and practical understanding to the community; as Prof. Dr. Sumiati with her feed expertise and Dr. Prayoga Suryadarma with his expertise in food processing.
“Agriculture field, especially post-harvest processing, is challenging. Facilitators must be able to create derived products from eggs, chilli, tomato, and eggplant that can increase the value as well as become an alternative product during harvest,” he added.
Meanwhile, Adi Andika conveyed his appreciation to LPPM IPB University for the SLAK activities carried out in Blitar Regency.
He said, SLAK activities would greatly assist farmers in increasing productivity in the agricultural sector. “We have coordinated with the Head of Ringginanyar Village regarding the placement of SLAK LPPM IPB University facilitators to that location. We hope that the the programs will run well,” he said.
The LPPM IPB University team then headed to the next destination, Ringginanyar Village and met with the Heads of Ringginanyar Village, Pangat and Abdul Muis SPd as Secretary of Ringginanyar Village.
Pangat, in a discussion with the LPPM IPB University Team, said that most of the people in Ringginanyar Village work as farmers and farmers. The commodities grown are cows, goats, ducks and chickens. While the agricultural commodities are chili, tomato, eggplant, corn, cucumber and pariah. The presence of IPB University facilitators is expected to be able to provide innovation for Ringginanyar Village, especially in the field of feed and processed agricultural products.
