IPB University Prepares to Implement K3L More Integrally
Occupational Safety, Health and Environment (K3L) is the mandate of the law and is one of the important factors that can affect the productivity of human resources. The risk of accidents due to work often occurs because the K3L program has not gone well.
The application of HSE is basically to look for and identify weaknesses or shortcomings that enable accidents to occur and ensure that they have been carefully controlled. For this reason, IPB University held a Urgency Workshop on Implementation of HSE in Higher Education on Monday (11/18) at the Dramaga Campus of IPB. The activity that was held by the Office of Quality Management, Risk Management and Internal Audit (KM3RAI) of IPB University was attended by the heads of work units or officials related to K3L.
Rector of IPB University, Prof. Arif Satria in his remarks conveyed that through this activity IPB University could learn to emulate the University of Indonesia (UI) which had already implemented K3L within the university environment with the existence of a special unit that handled this K3L.
“Actually, partially IPB University has implemented K3L. For example, by implementing an orderly area of traffic on campus. In the future there will be no more students or employees entering the campus area without using helmets. With the K3L, it will respect one’s soul so that safety, work health and the environment are guaranteed, “said the rector.
Prof. Fatma Lestari, Head of the K3L Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the University of Indonesia when becoming a resource person at the workshop conveyed the key to successful K3L implementation seen from the commitment of its leadership. “The task of our HSE Unit is to manage emergencies and crises that may occur on campus. As well as providing support and advice for teaching and learning activities, research, laboratory activities, and workshops to take place safely, healthily, and environmentally friendly, “explained Prof. Fatma.
