Designing Environmental Care Application, IPB University Students won 3rd Place at National Level
The role of students as agents of change is needed for the environment. Through its concern for the environment, five IPB University students made an application called SaNor (Savior of Nature).
Those five students are Alfiansyah Nur Zufa, Adila Lidinillah, Fanny Rifqi Al-Farizzi, M. Hafizh Maulana, dan Sekar Ayu Ramadhan. They are students of Vocational School IPB University, Informatics Management Study Program. With their work, Adila and friends managed to win the 3rd place in the Innovative Technology Competition App Development Year 2019, which was held in Padjajaran University, Bandung (12/10)
“SaNa app is a mobile-based app which aims to encourage the society to save our environment through donation and volunteer actions. Not only that, this app is also equipped with community, challenge, and event features,” said Adila.
She admitted that the app was designed on the grounds of declining environmental conditions that could potentially threaten the survival of living things on earth.
The advantages of SaNa app, Adila continued, there are user interface designs that can be used by the public to monitor donations and volunteering activities. The range of conservation areas provided in this SaNa application is very wide, so that it can connect various environmental lovers communities to interact with each other. Another advantage is the user will get a reward in the form of points from each activity carried out. Later, the coins can be exchanged for merchandise, activity tickets, and other products from the SaNa application.
In the future, Adila and friends will improve the app’s functionality through programming and database and workspace update.
“We hope that we can partner with the government, entrepreneurs, and communities in environmental field. SaNa app will be launched officially in PlayStore so the society can be more caring of the environment,” said Adila.
