Concern to Environment, CARE IPB University Educate Waste Management

Center for Conflict Resolution Studies (CARE) Research and Community Services (LPPM) IPB University with Bank Sampah Serbaguna Karanganyar (BSSK) Group and PT Pertamina EP Asset 3 Jatibarang Field held educational program about waste management in school. This educational program held In SDN Karanganyar 1 Indramayu Residence.

This educational program delivered by companion team of CARE LPPM IPB University with the committee of Bank Sampah Serbaguna (BSSK) Karanganyar, Indramayu. The lesson delivered were types of waste management and the impact if waste not managed well, socialization of 3R concept (reuse, reduce, and recycle) also ecobrick making practice.

“This waste educational program aims to introduce to student about waste management by 3R concept. Reuse means using usable waste reduce means decreasing all the matter effect or bring up waste and recycle means processing waste become product or useful thing,” explanation by Winar, one of the companions CARE LPPM IPB.

The school really supported this program, because this program in line with the school program plan aims to introduce the students about making ecobrick in school.

“I hope this program cam increase the students’ and teacher’s awareness to resolve the waste program in school. We hope this program can sustain and ecobrick that made can be useful for school,” said Eli, School Principal of SDN Karanganyar 1. (NR)
