Coffee Potential in Mount Puntang Tinggi, CARE IPB Provides Barista Training

Mount Puntang is one of the natural attractions in the south of Bandung Regency.  One of the very famous potentials of Mount Puntang is Kopi Puntang.  Arabica coffee produced in this region is famous for its flavors that are very well-liked by coffee lovers throughout Indonesia and abroad.

However, this very interesting potential has not been fully utilized by the people in the area.  Therefore, the Center for Alternative Dispute Resolution (CARE) of the Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM) IPB University in collaboration with PT Pertamina EP Asset 3 Subang Field, Perhutani and the Owa Jawa Foundation provided Barista training for the surrounding community.  The training participants are the communities around Mount Puntang who are members of the Bukit Amanah Forest Village Community Institute (LMDH).

The training, which was held some time ago, presented Barista from Soldadu Premium Coffee.  The training activity was attended by 13 participants from members of the Bukit Amanah LMDH and the Javan Gibbon Foundation.

The basic barista training was carried out aimed at providing knowledge and skills to LMDH Bukit Amanah representatives on how to become a good and right Barista.

Owner of Soldadu Premium Coffee, Mahendra Kusuma, said that Gunung Puntang Coffee has a taste that coffee lovers love, so it must be supported by good and correct presentation.

The training was held for two consecutive days with material about various ways of brewing coffee as well as its practice.  The participants were very enthusiastic in participating in this activity.
