IPB University Provides Omda to Enter Regions


IPB University provides Regional Student Organizations (Omda) with promotion information to go to the regions. The activity, which was attended by around 80 Omda, was held by the Communication Bureau of IPB University, Sunday (29/9) at the Dramaga Campus.

 "Omda was established thanks to the initiation of Public Relations of IPB University in the 2000s. At that time the Head of IPB Public Relations Office, the late Dr. Dr. Agus Lelana and until now the program is still running well to support the promotion activities of IPB University in areas facilitated by the Communication Bureau," said Head of the IPB University Bureau, Yatri Indah Kusumastuti.

The Omda debriefing included material on the overview of IPB University delivered by the Head of the Public Relations Division, Siti Nuryati, STP, MSi. In her presentation, Siti underlined that Omda needs to explain about agriculture in a broad sense to the alma mater or its original school. "That currently IPB University is ranked third in Indonesia by the Ministry of Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) in 2019. Because IPB University has a lot of innovations developed. The innovations of IPB University must be conveyed to students in various regions so that they are interested in learning agriculture," he explained.

Besides that, in the meeting with Omda IPB University, the material about the entrance path of IPB was also presented by the Head of the Sub Directorate of Education Planning and Information, Directorate of Education Administration and New Student Admissions, Suratni, SE, M.M. "IPB University accepts prospective new students through various channels, both National Higher Education Entrance National Selection (SNMPTN), Joint Higher Education Entrance National Selection (SBMPTN) and independent pathways," Suratni said.

In addition to today's debriefing, in the future there will be further debriefing in the form of Public Speaking training. (RYS)
