IPB University Business Incubator Receives Award from ICSB Indonesia

IPB University's Business Incubator (incuBie) received an award from the International Council for Small Business (ICSB) Indonesia.  The ICSB Indonesia Presidential Award was handed over by the Mayor of Bogor Dr. Bima Arya to the Director of the Science Technology Area and Business Incubator Dr.  Rokhani Hasbullah was witnessed by ICSB Indonesia Chairman Hermawan Kartajaya in Bogor (7/10).

ICSB is a global non-profit organization whose aim is to continue management education for entrepreneurs and small and medium businesses.  This council was established in 1956 to help increase the knowledge of small and medium businesses to succeed and provide economic and social impacts for the prosperity of the country.

"The appreciation and award of the 2019 ICSB Indonesia Presidential Award to the IPB University Business Incubator for the Researcher / Academician category is due to its dedication and commitment in supporting the progress of small and medium businesses in their working areas.  IPB University's Business Incubator or known by the name incuBie has consistently held Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) incubation programs since 1994 and has produced 265 companies or startups.  IncuBie IPB University has designed and implemented a business incubation program for tenants for one to three years and a business acceleration program to accelerate the development of tenant businesses and SMEs, "said Dr. Rokhani.

The incubation program includes day-to-day assistance in technical matters of production, business legality, product distribution permit, business management, promotion and marketing, financing facilitation and business matching.  The business acceleration program is an effort made to improve business development program services through training, coaching, mentoring and business matching (building cooperation) through collaboration with industry partners and capital institutions.

"The three-year business incubation program is significantly able to increase the number of partners, workforce, turnover and business valuation of incubating SMEs participating.  Hopefully, through this business incubation program, it is hoped that an innovation ecosystem will be created that will ultimately be able to foster innovative, independent and competitive SMEs on a global level, "he added.  [stp-ipb / zul]
