IPB University Moving Towards Human Capital Improvement
IPB University Rector talked about IPB University’s 2020 direction towards improvements i.e. more competent human resources, starting from lecturers, staffs, and students. All involved human resources have to be competent according to 2019-2023 milestone: Engaged and Competent Human Capital. “IPB University’s human resources have to be enthusiastic in working. They have to feel IPB University as their home,” said the Rector in the event IPB University 2019 Plan and Development Meeting, held in Auditorium of Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Thursday (12/9).
According to the Rector, all IPB University human resources have to fully understand what is the vision and mission that they embody, fully involved with full consciousness and understanding about where IPB University is going. “The outcome can be measured from how all components of IPB University, including security officers, cleaning service staffs, lecturers, students, and other staffs understand IPB University’s vision. Everyone has to understand from the policy level to the implementation, from top to bottom. The 4.0 Industrial era doesn’t apply to only one group, but for all of us. With our human resource development, we are moving everyone to be one might,” said the Rector.
“How far is the sense of attachment in digital transformation? Will people benefit from digital processes to generate a bigger power? Can scientists conduct researches in a sophisticated manner? Big or small problem, both need attention. One small problem can lead into bigger ones. For example, simple things such as poor sound system can lead into a bad presentation. This is the era of consuming, rating, sharing, saving, so it’s impossible to not be active on social media; it’s important to build opinion, branding, and reputation.”
The Rector also said about how important it is to build reputation. “Because our market needs reputation. Currently a reputation can be built by videography and photography skills. Those are the examples how small things can strengthen branding, because everyone has to be involved. By 2023 we hope that there will be local global interconnectivity. Human capital development can be measured by trust and performance,” said the Rector.
A strong human capital can be achieved if a sense of attachment is attained and trust is built, so that everyone can focus on IPB’s vision. Strong human capital with high competence, trust, performance which is in line with its reputation can be well realized.
The Vice Rector in Institution Resources, Planning, and Development, Prof Agus Purwito, guided the event by starting with 2019 budget review. (Ard)
