Let’s Taste the Delicious, Corn Klobot Abon Created by IPB University Students

One of these foods is widely known and loved by all people in Indonesia because it tastes delicious and tasty. These foods are generally made from meat, such as beef, chicken or fish meat. In Indonesia this food is usually called abon. Abon is often found in stalls, markets, and in supermarkets throughout Indonesia. Not a few Indonesian people are competing to offer abon with new flavors.
One of the new ideas came from young entrepreneurs who were continuing their education in the Chemical Analysis study program at the IPB University Vocational School through the Entrepreneurship Student Creativity Program (PKM-K). This young entrepreneur consisted of Rizki Ratna Widiyanti, Aisyatul Mardhiah, Azzah Huwaida, and Dyah Aryanti Wiguna. The habit of students who keep abon as one of the practical side dishes and expensive abon prices in the market, then came the idea of four IPB University students to create a new innovation called Bonbot.
Chairman of the PKM-K, Rizki Ratna Widiyanti conveyed, Bonbot or abon klobot was used or used as a trademark, because the name Bonbot was easy to be remembered by the wider community. Bonbot is one of the innovations in food products that are the result of existing scientific advances. Abon klobot or better known as bonbot is an innovation abon with the use of corn klobot as one of its main additives. Corn klobot is used as the main additive because it wants to make klobot as one of the ingredients that can be utilized and gives added value to Klobot itself.
"The klobot is corn husk which functions to protect corn kernels. The most common chemical component found in corn cob is cellulose which can reach 42 percent. Other components that can be found in corn husks include protein, vitamins A, B, C and E. Corn can be absorbent or absorbent from meat, and usually a person who eats too much meat will experience heat in his stomach. However, bonbot is present as abon which, when consumed in large quantities, will not cause heat in the stomach. Klobot is also sought after by many people to treat diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disease and others," she said.
Rizki added, besides the benefits, bonbot also has advantages over other abon products, including those made from natural ingredients, the price is relatively affordable, does not use food additives, and is healthy for daily consumption. Zipper lock packaging makes Bonbot more practical, and can be consumed anytime and anywhere, and can keep the quality of the shreds still good. "We hope that Bonbot can be mass-produced and consumed by the community to increase the selling value of cornhusk," she said.
According to Rizki, Bonbot offers four flavor variants namely original chicken flavor, spicy chicken, original beef and spicy beef. "The price offered for Abon Klobot is very cheap, starting from Rp. 13 thousand – Rp. 20 thousand per 80 grams.
