Talking about education in Indonesia, there is a question about whether or not the number of students correlates positively with their quality, especially in facing the Industrial Revolution 4.0. This question is answered by Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) report for 2015, which states that Indonesia’s education quality is ranked 69th of 75 countries.

This issue drives Ramadhani Dwi Handrian, a student of Soil Science Department, Faculty of Agriculture IPB University to formulate a solution called IndusPro 4.0 (Indonesia Sustainable Education Program 4.0).

“The inequality of teacher and education facilities distribution, especially in regions lacking modernization is the factor of the difficulties faced by Indonesian students in responding to the challenges brought by Industrial Revolution 4.0. The sluggishness and inefficiency of the system and learning methods, and lack of understanding of the urgency in implementing Industrial Revolution 4.0 concept by students and teachers are my concerns about our nation’s readiness in that upcoming era,” she said.

The innovation was presented by Ramadhani in an essay which was awarded the second prize in a national-level competition “Purpose: Literacy to Support National Development”, Pelita Harapan University, Tangerang (11/6).

Alhamdulillah, I’m glad and really grateful, and didn’t expect to win in this paper competition. I only write the idea from my perspective as a student, everything is a blessing from God,” said Ramadani.

Ramadhani said that her motivation in this essay competition is because of her desire to improve self-quality and her old dream of being a teacher. “I was accepted in an education major, but because of a certain reason, I chose IPB University instead. For me, even though I am an agriculture student, I still have to be able to realize the problems in our society and try to find innovative solutions, which I tried to express in this paper,” she said.
