IPB–Seoil University on Student Exchange & Ecotourism–Biopharmaceutical Collaboration


Rector of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB)—Dr. Arif Satria signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mr. Woo Jechang—President of Seoil University, South Korea on April 23rd, 2019 in IPB International Convention Center, Bogor. In his remarks, overviewing IPB’s national & global reputation and achievements, Dr. Arif Satria expressed firm encouragement on IPB–Seoil University recently tied collaboration. South Korea, as hub for one of the world’s most advanced innovations and research, is among IPB’s priority destination for establishing student exchange programs, which may vary to short courses, credit transfers and service learning program. Founder and Managing Director of Korean Institute for Education and Culture (KIEC)—Musyarafah Machmud, M.A., said that since currently South Korea is actively establishing international cooperation in education field, KIEC as the official representative, hopes more engagements to come with Indonesian counterparts. IPB Deputy Director for Cooperation and International Relations—Dr. Ing. Dase Hunaefi, S.T.P., M.Food.ST conveyed about Seoil University as a prestigious private university with large number of students & particular interest in ecotourism and biotechnology pharmaceutical, that are aligned with expertise in IPB Faculty of Forestry and Department of Resources and Environmental Economics & several other faculties/departments. Thus, Seoil University students are planned to partake in relevant summer courses held by IPB. IPB Faculty of Human Ecology also will follow up with lectures during reciprocal visit to South Korea later on.
