Presidential Secretariat Establishes Collaboration with IPB Manage Presidential Palace

The Presidential Secretariat cooperates with the Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) in managing flora and fauna in the Presidential Palace. The cooperation was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation Agreement by both parties at the State House, the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday (6/11).

The Memorandum of Understanding between the two parties was signed by the Head of the Presidential Secretariat, Heru Budi Hartono and the Rector of IPB, Dr. Arif Satria. In the Memorandum of Understanding number 01 / Ka / Setpres / 11/2018 and Number 109 / T3 / KsM / 2018, both parties agreed to establish cooperation in the fields of education, research and community service, and other fields agreed upon by both parties. Parties in accordance with their respective functions and authorities for the smooth implementation of the duties and obligations of both parties.

The Head of the Presidential Secretariat, Heru Budi Hartono welcomed the signing of this cooperation. According to him, this cooperation will greatly assist the Presidential Secretariat in arranging and maintaining state property, both movable and non-state property, especially Presidential Palace. "This is a good enough part of the example that we want to work together with the ranks of IPB, especially among others to organize the landscape, manage the areas of the palace (presidency) that we also cannot do alone," Heru said.

Likewise with the Rector of IPB who said that this cooperation was the right step to do. "This is a very precise pilot in order to synergize, to be able to mobilize the resources we have in order to maintain, care for the Presidential Palace that currently exists, the Presidential Palace throughout Indonesia," said the Rector of IPB.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the Ministry of State Secretariat, Setya Utama said that the idea to cooperate with this university had emerged since some time ago. He also considered the selection of IPB as a cooperative partner was the right thing. "Of course it is very appropriate for us to work together with IPB because IPB has the right knowledge, experts who help us to care for the animals we have," Setya Utama said.

On the same occasion, as a concrete manifestation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Presidential Secretariat and IPB, a Cooperation Agreement between the Cipanas Presidential Palace and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Institut Pertanian Bogor (FKH IPB) was signed. This collaboration includes education and research in the field of veterinary medicine.

The underlying cooperation is the Presidential Palace requires the support of personnel and equipment in order to maintain animal health in the Presidential Palace. This includes zoonois prevention or animal diseases that can spread from animals to humans and vice versa. "Inside the Presidential Palace there are animals, such as horses. The horse is now 21. We need to take care of it, we raise it, this capability is in IPB, "said Heru Budi.

Responding to this, the Rector of IPB said that his party had competence in the field of animals. However, he also said that the possibility of cooperation was extended to other fields, such as landscape management. "Actually, it does not rule out the possibility that there are many things we can do related to landscape issues, the development of landscape management. "It also relates to measuring and diagnosing the condition of the trees in the Presidential Palace," Dr. Wise.

The Rector of IPB added that IPB currently has ultrasound for trees. According to him, this tool can detect the contents of trees to measure the extent of the tree's strength. "So that it can be our step to anticipate when there is wind and so on. So frankly we too at IPB are conducting a tree audit. So all the big trees we are auditing, see the conditions, do not let when there is a breeze there will be rain. That I think is very dangerous to disturb our safety, so is the Palace (Presidential), "he continued.
