IPB in QS-APPLE as Worldwide Reputation Enhancement

The QS Asia Pacific Professional Leaders in Education Conference and Exhibition (QS-APPLE) Conference and Exhibition 2018 was held during November 21st-23rd, 2018 in Seoul, South Korea where Chung-Ang University acted as the distinguished host. This even themed on future of universities in Asia-Pacific, motivated by the fact that the changing face of higher educational institutions has been causing nowadays’ relevant issues. Prof. Dr. Anas Miftah Fauzi – IPB’s World Class University (WUR) Coordinator, who is as well Dean of IPB Graduate School, was assigned as one of QS-APPLE 2018 International Academic Advisory Committee Members. He alongside with other respected IPB delegates was tasked to initiate international collaborations within participating universities from all around Asia-Pacific and formulate IPB internalization strategies. Prof. Anas was also appointed as Chair in a parallel session bringing topic on student body internationalization. Summer course was mentioned to be substantial in boosting international student mobility, as an effort by combining educational activities with sustainable development goals (SDGs) achievements. Prof. Anas stated that this participation generated at least three strategic benefits. Aside of visibility, the advantage included networking, especially regarding on-going programs such as summer courses, dual/double degree programs and scholarships cooperation. During the three-day-conference, IPB has established initiative collaborations with a number of universities. This occasion was also a learning opportunity where each parallel session provided platform for attendees to figure new ideas in various forthcoming internalization programs.
