Embed the Love of the Environment, IPB Students Implement the Community Development Program
Like a country is an individual, the village is the cell. For individuals who are good and quality, must start from the constituent components, namely cells. This was done by the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) which was incorporated in the Indonesian Green Action Forum (IGAF) Student Activity Unit (UKM).
Through the Village Development Grant Program (PHBD) from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti), IGAF SMEs implemented a village development program in Kampung Hejo, Dramaga Bogor (21/10) with the theme "Biodiversity and Environment".
"The Village Development Grant Program (PHBD) is run by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education and the IGAF is one of the recipients of the grant. This program has a contract from the beginning of June to November. This village development program takes the theme "Biodiversity and Environment" which discusses the reforestation of villages and environmental management," said Galuh Andini, the implementer of the Bina Desa Grant Program.
Hejo village which has become an educational program fostered by IGAF, was developed into a greening center. The selection of the village is related to the lack of green space arrangement, and the lack of waste management education, because there is no garbage storage area.
"Initially, this village of Hejo has become an IGAF educational village, then developed into greening. Well, even though the village, the spatial planning of the village is still lacking, and there is a lack of education in processing waste because there is no garbage collection site. Greening by the IGAF is also to educate people in the fields of agronomy and horticulture," said Galuh.
The village development program that has been implemented is verticulture from bamboo or used bottles with ornamental fish plants. The program carried out by the IGAF invited citizens to express and succeed in reforestation and waste processing education programs.
The enthusiasm of the residents of Kampung Hejo can be seen from the output that has been achieved from this program. Namely the distribution of verticulture plants that have been sown to residents' homes, borrowing land from residents for chili plantations, clearing land near the river flow to be used as parks and the selection of Kampung Hejo to describe Dramaga sub-district in an eco-friendly village competition in Bogor Regency.
"There are several outputs that we have achieved thanks to the welfare of citizens. The output that has been seen is the distribution of verticulture plants that have been sown to people's homes, there are those who lend the land to be used as chili gardens, the space for the flow of the river to be used as a garden, and perhaps the most visible from the election of Hejo Village to describe Dramaga in the village race environmentally friendly Bogor Regency," added Galuh.
Finally, Galuh as the Acting Chairperson of the village development program implemented by IGAF Disclosure of Hejo Village can be a pilot village in terms of greening education in environmental conservation and can shape the loving and environmentally caring character of the residents. (NR)
