Juli Wicaksono, the First Indonesian to Receive YouTube Creator Award
A student of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) was nominated in an international award given by YouTube whose head-quarter is located in San Bruno, California (30/3).
The award was officially announced in YouTube Official site and was given to only 5 nominees in the world. One of the 5 nominees was Juli Wicaksono, a student from Department of Sharia Economy, Faculty of Economics and Management IPB. Juli is the first Indonesian who manage to receive the prestigious award.
“The award is given to regard my achievement in reaching 100 000+ subscribers on my account which has been actively creating family friendly content. I was granted the “Creator Award” from YouTube which makes me the first Indonesian to receive the award”, as stated by Juli, showing his gratefulness.
The owner of YouTube account under the same name expressed that it was not an easy way to be in his current position and to accomplish this great achievement. Juli was required and being pushed to consistently creating creative content in his YouTube channel, Juliwicks, prior to the award. His activity in YouTube was started in high school when he was asked to create a YouTube channel to participate in a competition. Since then, he continues to adding more videos which attract people to push his subscribe button. What’s great is he’s not only good at creating videos, he’s also good at funding his college by his own.
“The process was started in my third year in high school. At that time I created a channel just because the competition I participated on required me to do so. After the first video, the comment section was full with people asking me to create more videos, thus since then, I spend my spare time shooting scenes and editing videos for my YouTube channel. It’s a great thing, though. I manage to pay my school’s fees from the money I get from YouTube” Juli explained.
The award is the encouragement for Juli to be more creative. He’s expecting there will be more young people who are creative and passionate to reach their dreams through their own unique paths and ways.
“I’m asking for your prayers so that I can build a foster house for less fortunate children from the money I make through this career” Juli concluded the interview (FR/Ff/ris).
