IPB Dominates Prospective Innovation Work of Indonesia in the Last Ten Years

For the last decade, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) has been dominating the list of the most prospective innovation of Higher Education Institution determined by Business Innovation Center (BIC) and Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of Indonesia (Kemenristekdikti). The list has been driving IPB to be acknowledged as the most productive campus in terms of innovation which contribute beneficial aspect in national and global scale.
BIC selected 1.045 innovations out of 4.555 works proposed by Indonesian Higher Education Institutions in the period of 2008 - 2017. In university research category, IPB ranked as the first place with 417 innovative researches. The list shows that IPB is dominating the research and innovation for research university category since IPB contributes 39.91% of total 1.045 selected innovations in Indonesia. The ranking is followed by University of Indonesia in the second place, Gadjah Mada University in the third place and Bandung Institute of Technology in the fourth place. This achievement reinforces IPB’s commitment in developing research and prospective innovation in the community continuously.
“I am so thankful that IPB still awarded as the first place of most in number of prospective innovation based on Business Innovation Center research. This can only be happening as result of collaborative efforts of all components in IPB. I personally congratulate for the achievement awarded to the innovators. I also encourage lecturers, students and staffs to continuously working in good collaboration, in order for this achievements to be develop and improve in the future”, as stated by Dr. Arif Satria, the Rector of IPB, while expressing his gratefulness.
BIC and Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of Indonesia runs 108 Innovations of Indonesia program annually. This event was held since 2008 and aims to choose 108 most innovative work of research that considered to be potentially commercialized (DMR).
