To Produce the Best Quality Products, Biopharmaca LPPM IPB Organized the Training Course on Experimental Design
Tropical Biopharmaca Research Center (Biopharmaca), of The Institute of Research and Community Empowerment of Bogor Agricultural University (LPPM IPB) organized the Training Course on Experimental Design, on “Workshop on a Good Experimental Design for A Better Product Developmen”', The event took place on 19-20 April 2018, IPB Campus, at Taman Kencana, Bogor.
The present Training Course is the follow-up annual training program planned by the Center. The training course is focused on the experimental design for biopharmaceutical programs.
In general, this training provides a comprehensive knowledge on how to design experiment using correct scientific methods. Experimental design and data analysis issues contribute to inconsistent with statistical rules. Validity encompasses the entire experimental concept and establishes whether the results obtained meet all of the requirements of the scientific research method.
All measurements have some degree of uncertainty that may come from a variety of sources. The process of evaluating the uncertainty associated with a measurement result is often called uncertainty analysis or error analysis. It is impossible to make an exact measurement. Therefore, all experimental results are wrong. Just how wrong they are depends on the kinds of errors that were made in the experiment. Therefore, Biopharmaca must be careful in determining the experimental design and statistical analysis.
Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Training Coure, Rudi Heryanto, stated that the experimental design is very important in predicting the composition of materials used in herbal medicine. The experimental design is also necessary to determine the proper formulation in herbal medicine.
According to him, the experimental design is also very important to find the right dose formulation on herbal medicine. We can also experiment with some process aiming to optimize its performance. Accuracy of dosage formulations on herbal remedies greatly determine the efficacy of the desired herbal medicine. One of the successful products created by Trop BRC IPB with experimental design is glucoryl. The efficacy of this product is lowering blood sugar levels.
Design of experiments (DOE) is an approach used in numerous industries for conducting experiments to develop new products and processes faster, to produce the best quality product," he added. (Wied)
