Students of IPB Told about the Profile of IPB in Malaysia

Student of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Bogor Agricultural University (FEM of IPB), Fadhilah Yusuf, became the delegation of IPB in ASEAN Youth Leaders Excursion 2018. The activity was held by the International University of Malaya-Wales on 18-20 March 2018 in Malaysia and Singapore. A total of 18 participants who attended came from the students of SMA and the students of Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore.
Fadhilah said that the activity aimed to socialize the profile of the campuses involved such as IPB, Airlangga, Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Universitas Budi Luhur, and so on. In addition, the International University of Malaya-Wales was also looking for the superior seeds to earn the scholarships of the undergraduate and master programs.
“The five best participants will receive the scholarships to continue their studies in the International University of Malaya-Wales. The participants will again take some tests to get the scholarships, from the half-full to full scholarships. Alhamdulillah, I and two other friends from IPB, namely Iis Sugiarti and Nurfaizahmarwan, get the scholarships to continue the master programs in the International University of Malaya-Wales,” explained Fadhil.
Fadhilah reported that the activity lasted three days, two days were in Malaysia and the last day was in Singapore. The core of the activity was the semi-conference in the International University of Malaya-Wales.
“Each campus presents the profile of each campus. I also explain more specifically about IPB and the agriculture, especially in the economics. Not only the campuses in Indonesia, the Dean of the International University of Malaya-Wales also explains related to its campus profile including the life, the the scientific fields, the student admissions, and so on,” explained Fadhil.
The most memorable moment for Fadhilah was the presentation of English in front of all the participants.
“My leadership skills are highly tested while there. Good English comunication skills and how to present the profile of IPB, without being nervous in front of other participants. Through this activity, I have so many networks from Malaysia and Singapore, especially the channel to continue my S2 education in Malaysia,” he continued.
The expectation of Fadhil, to the future such events could be continued for other friends, the ability to communicate in English every student and students in Indonesia could be trained well and got many relations with the neighboring countries. (UAM/ris)
