IPB is Ready to help the Economic Development Acceleration of Pasaman Regency
Rector of Bogor Agriculture University (IPB), Dr. Arif Satria, and the Regent of Pasaman Regency, AKBP (Purn) H. Yusuf Lubis, SH, M.Si, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday (25/1), in the Rector Conference Room of Andi Hakim Nasoetion Building, IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor.
The Rector said that this cooperation is a very important step. He said that IPB has a moral responsibility to synergize regional development and to strengthen agricultural development. "With the diversity of faculties that IPB has, many areas can be cooperated," said the rector.
For instance, in the field of education, IPB has an admission way called Scholarship for Regional Representatives (BUD). This BUD was established to educate the local children and funded by the Local Government with the requirement that they must return to their homeland after graduation.
Meanwhile, the Regent of Pasaman, AKBP (Purn) H. Yusuf Lubis, SH, M. Si, expressed his gratitude to IPB for providing this cooperation opportunity. He said that the signing of the MoU today was a follow-up of the previous meeting in December 2017.
Through this cooperation, the Regent hoped that IPB can help Pasaman Regency in terms of assistance in the acceleration of economic development, especially in the agricultural sector. "Hopefully, it can be run optimally with this MoU. Thus, the vision of Pasaman Regency, namely prosperous society, religious and cultured, can be realized", he explained.
Director of Agricultural Policy and Strategic Studies (KSKP) of IPB, Prof. Dr. Dodik R Nurrochmat; Head of Cooperation Sub Directorate, Directorate of Cooperation and International Program (KSPI) of IPB, Dr. Fadjar Satrija; as well as Vice Deans and Heads of Departments and researchers at IPB were appeared to attend this occasion. Meanwhile, the Head of the Regional Work Unit (SKPD) also participated in the entourage of the Regional Government of Pasaman Regency. (TK)
