The Library of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) continues to provide the best services for the entire academic community in providing information. Head of IPB Library, Prof. Dr. Pudji Muljono, said that the library  established  cooperative works and provides support to various Departments under IPB for the accreditation of working units and in selecting books the acquisition.

If the total number of library users is decline everywhere, but IPB Library does not experience such bad things. Based on the results of the survey in 2016, among the  users of IPB Library, 35.51 percent of which are School of Graduate Studies students, whereas  64.49 percent of which are both undergraduate students and the general public. The total number of IPB Library users  in 2016 is 230,860 users.

The total areas of reading room of IPB Library is 8071.64 square meters, it is scattered  in old and new buildings. The new wing in  library building is an infrastructure to  support the development of digital library carried out by IPB Library. The old building is the location of  books, journals, theses, and dissertations collections.

"We recommend that the printed format must be retained in the library. Because the digital collections are quite vulnerable if they are stored in a longer time. If the library officials do not updated their knowledge on the development of information technology, certainly the digital collections  can not be read again due to damaged storage media or no more readers, "said Prof. Pudji.

Currently, IPB Library is one of the most convenient place for IPB students because of the complete access of books and adequate wi-fi facilities. In addition, based on a survey in June 2017, the IPB Library became the 3rd most convenient library in Indonesia, after UI and ITB.

Library IPB has been certified ISO 9001: 2015 in January 2017. In addition to serving  books, IPB Library as a unit to record of all student theses and they are accessible through  IPB Repository. It was ranked the 1st web Repository in Southeast Asia. Not only that, other services provided include international online journal articles, electronic books, information literacy, accreditation support data, and multimedia collections.

IPB Library also organized various programs one of which was implemented recently, on  11 July 2017, namely Seminar and Knowledge Sharing to present the results of the study of librarian IPB. The seminar was held to answer the challenge of changing the pattern of library utilization due to the changing needs of the users. "The seminar presented the productivity IPB lecturer in international journal indexed by SCOPUS, research map of 12 kinds of local Indonesian fruit, bibliometric study on livestock media journal and data service in library service improvement," Prof. said.
