Empowered the Agricultural Youth, Students of IPB were Selected as the Delegates

Sugih Satrio Wibowo, the student of Department of Science of Animal Production and Technology (IPTP), Faculty of Animal Husbandry (Fapet), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), represented West Java to become the part of 34 selected delegates in Youth4Dev Academy Booth Camp 2017. The event which was initiated by four alumni of YSEALI Civic Engagement University of Nebraska and supported by U.S Embassy in Jakarta focused on the role of the youth in each region in contributing to realize the 17 goals of the sustainable development (SDG’s). The event also selected several social projects from the delegation to be funded in its implementation in the pitching project session with the American Embassy in Jakarta.

As a representative of West Java, Sugih carried a social project entitled Agreeneration (Agriculture Generation) with the community of Bogor Youth Impact to create a generation of future agriculture through the agricultural education. Other than that, Agreeneration also made the concept of the urban farming in one RW that was managed together to reduce the unemployment rate at the young age in exploiting the local potential of the region. Agreeneration also aimed to prepare the youth of RW level in the future demographic bonuses. This project succeeded in becoming the project selected in the funding and the mentorship from the American Embassy in Jakarta at the event of the Youth For Sustainable Development Small Grants Competition.***
