Inspectorate General of Kemenristekdikti Monitors SBMPTN 2017 in Bogor

Inspector General of Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) RI, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho directly monitored the implementation of Joint Selection for Entrance to State Universities (SBMPTN) in the local area 33 in the Diploma Program Campus of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Tuesday (16/5), accompanied Rector of IPB, Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto; IPB's Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Yonny Koesmaryono; IPB's Director of Diploma Program, Dr. Bagus P. Purwanto.

On this occasion, Inspector General and Rector handed over the exam paper to the exam supervisor to signal the commencement of the examination and showed the exam document was still in a sealed condition. Then, addressing to the SBMPTN participants, Prof. Jamal hopes they could make the best use of their time and concentrate on working on the test items. "Currently simultaneously there are 85 state universities (PTN) conducting SBMPTN written test together, starting this morning," he said.

Rector of IPB expressed his gratitude for the observation by the Inspector General of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia. "The Selection Exam is also supported by a highly credible committee. All hand in hand work on the exam questions to the administration of the test. Hopefully some of the participants, 797 thousand throughout Indonesia, could be part of IPB's students. They will compete for 150 thousand seats 85 of state universities in Indonesia," he said.

Local Committee 33

Local Committee (Panlok) 33 of Bogor held SBMPTN simultaneously in 5 Sub-Panlok in Bogor, Cianjur, Bekasi, Karawang and Cirebon. They all held a written Paper Based Testing (PBT), while the Computer Based Testing (CBT) was conducted only in Sub-Panlok of Bogor and SubPanlok of Karawang.

The total number of SBMPTN 2017 participants taking the exam in Panlok 33 is 43,826 students, consisting of 21,383 participants of the science and technonoly exam group, 18,279 students of the Social Humanities exam group and 4,164 students of mixed exam groups. Of this number, 620 students took CBT exams and the reamaining took PBT exams. Compared with the number of SBMPTN 2016 (37,603 students), this year there is an increase of 14.9 percent in the number of participants .

Of the five Panlok 33 test venues Sub-Panlok Bogor has the largest number of participants, 14,216 participants (13,636 PBT and 580 CBT). The numbers of examinees at other Sub-Panlok are 13,958 students in Bekasi, 7,314 in Cirebon, 4,106 in Karawang (4,066 PBT and 40 CBT), and 3,612 in Cianjur.

Among the participants six were the disabled (deaf), three in Bogor and Bekasi, respectively. The committee has provided a special supervisor for the disable. (Mtd)
