A total of 79 Delegations of Southeast Asia gathered for the event of Power Shift Philippines: Climate Action Summit in Daraga, Albay, Philippines (10-12/3). This activity was attended by the participants who had passed the selection of the essay. The delegation from Indonesia was of 7 young people, two of them were from Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), namely Rahmatul Jannah from the Department of Silviculture, the Faculty of Forestry, and Willy Anggraini from the Department of Marine Science and Tecnology (ITK), the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK).

The purpose of the Power Shift PH was to train the young people of Southeast Asia about the action that should be done to address the climate change in order that all delegations were increasingly aware of the importance of protecting the environment, especially the lifestyle and the important of the forest and the air.

“I have the opportunity to plant the coral reefs and the seagrass. Before planting, we get a briefing from the Coral Dome Project. The planting of the coral reefs and the seagrass is carried out on the edge using the buffer that will be taken out to the sea to be planted. After all are installed, the coral reefs and the seagrass are taken by the speedboat. Not all delegates can participate, only 8 people who can come to the planting site in the middle of the sea of the Philippines, I get a chance to participate in ushering and seeing directly the planting of the coral reefs and the seagrass, since the planting should only be done by the expert people who already have the certificate,” said Rahma.

At this event, the delegation of Indonesia had the opportunity to introduce concerning Indonesia and its cultural richness. “We show the art of Java, Sumatra, Sulawesi, Kalimantan, and Papua,” said Willy.***
