IPB holds a Forum of Innovation Acceleration, Generating Young Technopreneurs

Marking 10 years of technopreneurship (entrepreneurship based on technology), Innovation Acceleration, formerly called Recognition and Mentoring Program (RAMP) of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) held a Forum of Innovation Acceleration. This forum aims to bring together the best innovators who have followed the program through the website akselerasi.id to get opportunity to learn and compete in the national arena. This Forum raising the theme, "Weaving the Future of Education, Innovation and Entrepreneurship" was held for three days (6-8 / 2), at IPB International Convention Center (IICC) Bogor.

Head of Sub-Directorate of Innovation Acceleration of Research and Innovation Directorate of IPB, Dr. Aji Hermawan described that the history of RAMP IPB for 10 years in the field of innovation and Technopreneurship has inspired many academics in developing innovation and has produced outstanding alumni. This success cannot be separated from the support of universities and partners of RAMP IPB as well as active participation of students.

"We want to produce not just any entrepreneur, but entrepreneurs using science and technology and give benefits to the community at large", he said. On the first day, Idea Pitching was scheduled for competition in which participants are Ideation Award finalists. It was then continued with a Training on Business Prototyping on the second day, and on the third day Launching was held for Innovation Acceleration and Awarding.

Ideation Award is a competition of ideas, involving students from five partner universities of Innovation Acceleration through Ideation Program akselerasi.id. The five universities are IPB, Brawijaya University, Padjadjaran University, Lambung Mangkurat University, and University of Jember. Six best project received an award as Innovation Acceleration partners that have jointly developed and promoted Technopreneurship in colleges, and got the opportunity to obtain financial facilitation and mentoring from Innovation Acceleration to develop ideas into products. The six awards are:

1.         Archipelago Coffee : Anan Purwaditama (IPB)

2.         Atfire : M. Ali Dofir (Brawijaya University)

3.         May Food Co : Andi Setiawan (Brawijaya University)

4.         Making Adsorbent using Keritin of Duck Fur: Dwi Nurwijayanti (Lambung Mangkurat University)

5.         Pregnajoy : Q Ahmad Riza Z (IPB)

6.         Utilization of Kelakai as Alternative to produce Nori: Ade Kurniawan (Lambung Mangkurat University)

On this occasion, present as a keynote speaker was Head of Sub-Directorate for Development of Innovation Network and System, Ministry of Research-Technology and Higher Education of RI, Dr. Wihatmoko Waskitoaji. He emphasized the important role of industry, academia and government in the national innovation system. (Mtd)
