First Lecture of IPB’s Outside-Domicile Program in Sukabumi

The first lecture of IPB’s Outside-Domicile Program on Monday (5/9), at the Polytechnic Campus of Sukabumi, West Java, ran well.

 

Head of IPB’s Outside-Domicile Team in Sukabumi, Prof.Dr. Yonny Koesmaryono said this year IPB accepts 98 students, consisting of 21 undergraduate students of Resource and Environmental Economics, 17 undergraduate students of Agronomy and Horticulture, 28 students of Vocational Program of Production Technology and Aquaculture Management and 32 students of Vocational Program of Livestock Management and Technology.

 

The IPB’s Outside-Domicile Program in Sukabumi was launched by the Governor of West Java Ahmad Heryawan; IPB Rector, Prof. Herry Suhardiyanto and Mayor of Sukabumi on 3 May 2016. This is one form of IPB contribution to the country.

 

"It is expected that all educational activities of the Outside-Domicile Program in Sukabumi can run smoothly and generate competent graduates in their fields. This demonstrates the seriousness of IPB to increase the competence of Indonesian human resources," said the rector.

 

West Java Governor said that with the presence of IPB’s Outside-Domicile Program in Sukabumi, it is expected that the number of high school graduates and vocational high school in the regions of Sukabumi, Cianjur and the surrounding region increases every year. Similarly, a lecturer in the IPB’s Outside Domicile Program, born in Sukabumi, Dr. Aceng Hidayat said that with the a program, qualified human resources to manage natural resources in West Java will increase in availability.

 

West Java Governor, who is also an alumni of IPB, will deliver a public lecture at the same time celebrate the 53rd anniversary of IPB in Sukabumi at the end of this month.

 

As a support to the academic activities, IPB invites Fish Seed Center of Sukabumi, the Center for Development of Freshwater Aquaculture, Agro-tourism Region Developer of Cikundul and several government agencies in Sukabumi. *** (Mtd)
