PSIM-SPs Supports IPB as a World Class University
In order to support the vision of the Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) to become a World Class University (WCU), the Management Science Program (PSIM) of the Graduate School (SPs) of IPB under the management of the Department of Management, Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) of IPB routinely hold a guest lecture by both national and international speakers. This aims to improve the quality of learning with the international perspective, especially for students.
On May 11, PSIM-SPs IPB in collaboration with the Directorate for Research and Innovation (DRI) of IPB held an international activity of guest lecture in the Lecture Building B1, Dramaga Campus of IPB. On this occasion an international expert in the field of governance sustainability was invited from the Copenhagen Business School, Denmark, Prof. Stefano Ponte who presented "Governing Sustainability in a World of Global Value Chain", led by Dr.rer.pol. Heti Mulyati as a moderator.
Currently, sustainability is the mainstream of global economy after their momentum in Paris and the Sustainable Development Goals. Prof. Ponte presented a very interesting topic based on the results of research on global value chain of various agricultural products in developing countries for more than 15 years. Cooperation and interests of a wide range of multi-stakeholders in global value chains require orchestral instruments in the form of governance based on a sustainability agenda.
This event was attended by both graduate and undergraduate students as well as IPB lecturers from FEM and Fateta, including Prof. Dr. Iskandar Z. Siregar, Director of DRI IPB. The participants were very enthusiastic with the various questions about sustainability, food safety, quality standards, and certification of agricultural products entering the global value chain.
PSIM Chairman, Dr. Jono M. Munandar said, PSIM IPB strongly supports the realization of education and international cooperation, so this International Guest Lecture like this is very important for students and faculty members. The new management of PSIM is determined to carry out a series of guest lectures as a regular three-monthly agenda to share knowledge, especially in the fields of strategic management, marketing, production / operations, finance, human resources, and supply chains. In practice, the experts invited are not only academicians but also researchers and practitioners who are experts in the field of national and international management.
Last year PSIM invited experts from the University of Hannover, Germany and Purdue University, US. About a month earlier, PSIM brought in speakers from the National Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries, Egypt. *** (Mtd)
