Switzerland Makes Cooperation with IPB

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) received the delegation of Switzerland State Secretary for the purpose of a cooperation agreement to improve education and agricultural technology research, on Tuesday (15/3). Switzerland State delegation led by State Minister of Education Mr. Mauro Dell'ambrogio was welcome by Rector of IPB, Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto in the Rector Meeting Room, Andi Hakim Nasution Building, Dramaga Campus.

 

Rector said, IPB strongly supports this partnership, which aims to improve the relationship between IPB and various universities and researchers in Switzerland. It is said, at this time there have been several joint studies conducted by IPB and universities in Switzerland, including research on sustainable palm oil production.

 

He added that, in order to encourage more cooperation with partners in Switzerland, there are several funding schemes from Switzerland for such programs as a short visit for Indonesian researchers, the research program of Sustainable Development Goals, and S3 scholarship program to study in Switzerland.

 

Meanwhile, Switzerland Education Minister Mr. Mauro Dell'ambrogio said, his country provides a scheme of scholarships for doctoral students in Switzerland for mobility abroad, including Indonesia for 6-12 months. This scheme is expected to increase the number of foreign students, especially from Switzerland to take studies in IPB.

 

Present in this event were IPB’s Vice Rector for Research and Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Anas Miftah Fauzi; Director of Cooperation and International Programs (KSPI) of IPB, Dr. Eddy Hartulistiyoso; and a number of researchers and lecturers of IPB. This meeting ended with a visit to PT IPB Shigeta Animal Pharmaceuticals engaged in the production of veterinary medicines. (Mtd)
