Up to Now IPB Has Graduated 7.303 Veterinarians
A total of 59 (fifty nine) new veterinarians of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Bogor Agricultural Institute (FKH IPB) had been graduated, on Wednesday, 20 January 2016. Oath taking of “Veterinary Profession” took place in the Auditorium of Jannes Humuntal Hutasoit, IPB Campus, Dramaga, Bogor. Overall the total number of veterinarians who have been graduated by FKH IPB since its conception is 7303 (seven thousand three hundred and three) veterinarians.
Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of IPB (FKH IPB), Prof.Dr.drh. Srihadi Agungpriyono, explained that veterinarians care for the health of animals and work to improve public health. They diagnose, treat, and research medical conditions and diseases of pets, livestock, and other animals, Therefore he suggested that veterinarians should learn more about what veterinarians studies to improve their careers. I addition, they should always be willing to undertake additional training to update their knowledge. Importantly they should always communicate with the existing alumni veterinarians network.
Yet, Vice Rector of Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Yonny Koesmaryono, stressed the importance of responsibility, honesty, discipline, and obey a code of ethics for their careers. "I found that the challenge for the Indonesia veterinarians to be large and huge. Therefore, leadership skills are considered to be important traits which can help to improve their future jobs. The new veterinarians are expected to learn, work and develop veterinary field and to answer problems and challenges that arise, "he said.
Prof. Yonny stated work areas that desperately require veterinarians, are the food technology industries, animal protection, animal quarantine and animal husbandry production. In this special event FKH IPB presented its best student, namely DVM. Novia Puspitasari with a GPA of 3.8, accordingly she was granted the awards. (Wied)
