 Representatives of the Konservasi Sumberdaya Hutan dan Ekowisata (Himakova -Student Association of the Conservation of Forest Resources and Ecotourism) Faculty of Forestry Bogor Agricultural University (FAHUTAN IPB) Bangkit Maulana and Rizka Sya'bana Azmi were invited by the Musium Rekor Indonesia (MURI – World-Indonesia Record Museum), on Tuesday, 22 December 2015, to accept the award of Institut Prestasi Nusantara (Institute of Nusantara achievements) the Indonesian record for longest continuously running Environmental Studies on Conservation. 

 

Studi Konservasi Lingkungan (Surili – Environmental Study on Conservation) is one of the superior work programs of Himakova IPB that explores the broader themes of biodiversity and the major environmental challenges confronting socio-cultural of the society. This program is Indonesia's largest expedition activities undertaken by 80 (eighty) students.  Surili has implemented routinely its annual work on environmental expedition since 2003 in various  conservation areas in Indonesia. Usually data collecting have been carried out for 3-4 weeks in the field.

 

The Surili programs of Himakova teams is consistently greeting for Indonesia, they have recorded every inch of natural beauty and cultural wealth of the country. As many as 13 national parks in Indonesia have been explored for its flora, fauna, ecotourism, as well as its social, and cultural aspects. They have been well-documented through writing, scientific reports, popular semi reports, films and national seminars. Those programs have been organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Natural Resource Conservation Center, National Park Offices, IPB student organizations, other universities, as well as various non-governmental organizations, media partners and companies.

 

The application to obtain the certificate of this awards from MURI was initiated by the committee of 30th Family Day of Himakova,  as the reflection of its 30 years of life history of Himakova for Indonesia. One of its annual program is Surili expedition. "This award is not just a tribute to the existence of the organization, but also as a form of self-improvement and hard work of all members of Himakova recently," said Yasser as the former Chairman of Himakova. Muri record was symbolically handed over by the Chairman of Surili to the representatives of the Department of Forest Resources Conservation and Ecotourism, of the  Faculty of Forestry of IPB, Ir. Haryanto MS in the 30th Family Day of Himakova, on 26 December 2015, at Villa Cibogo, Puncak. (Wied).
