Dean of FEMA-IPB sings in Purwasari Village
The song titled "Mahasiswa” (Student) by Dr. Arif Satria colored the program "Sami Saena" or Village Partner of the students of Faculty of Human Ecology, Bogor Agricultural University (FEMA-IPB) in Setu Uncal Kampong, Purwasari Village, Dramaga District, Bogor Regency, Sunday (23/11). The song tells how beautiful was the time of being a student, acquiring knowledge and possessing the serving spirit to reach excellent works and being rich in achievements.
"Through this event we want the village kids to have a dream to become a university student. Presence of the students among the villagers hopefully would inspire them to build the dream," said Dr. Arif Satria, Dean of FEMA IPB when met on the break of the event.
Sami Saena, initiated by the Student Executive Board (BEM) of FEMA and the Profession Association (Himpro) was on that day quite festive, attended by about 30 students and dozens of the village people. By sitting cross-legged under a tent, friendly atmosphere was increasingly felt. Moreover, it ended by having lunch together on the riverbank.
Head of BEM -FEMA IPB, Rici Pratama said, Sami Saena is one of FEMA’s flagship programs, which has been running for six years. In doing so, they visit the villages around the campus. With Purwasari Village, the students have in particular been in partnership for one year.
Healthy Nutrition, Early Childhood Education and Community Development become the focus of Sami Saena . "With the God willing, in 2014, we will return to the village Purwasari," Rici added.
Purwasari Village Secretary, H. Safrudin, was seen to accompany the Sami Saena activity at the end of 2013. He said he was happy with the presence of the students in his village offering diverse programs or activities for the local residents. (Mtd)
