The team of IPB Won the Third Wiinerof the 4rd ASEAN Undergraduate Bowl Quiz
The team of IPB students recorded best achievements in the 4rd ASEAN Undergraduate Bowl Quiz, held at Max Atria, Singapore Expo, on 10 September 2013. This competition specifically for undergraduate students (S1), was one of the activities of the 13th ASEAN Food Conference 2013 was organized by the ASEAN Committee on Science and Technology (ASEAN COST) and the Federation of Institutes of Food Science and Technology in ASEAN (FIFTSA).
The IPB team represented Indonesia for the Food Science Quiz was consisted of SanjayaGunawan (Team leader), StellaAlinneshia, Michael Lodolisa, and this Maknun Lulu. The IPB team defeated the other teams from Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, and Cambodia, and had won the 3rd position. First winner was the Thai team, and second winner went to the Philippine team.

They have done their best started at the regional selection, up to the represent Indonesia at the ASEAN level, "he said.
In the interview, when he was asked how he feel when the team was selected to the third winner in the international competition, Gunawan replied, "Some people have opinions that competition are interpreted as a drama that produces winners and a group of"The Lost". But for me the 'ASEAN Undergraduate Quiz Bowl Competition' is more than just a 'drama' as this special event enabled me to win new friends, got precious experiences, and also has widened our insight on the foodscience. Truly it is unforgettable experience. " Moreover, according to Michael, the achievements made by the Indonesia team for the AFC is a collective achievement of the Indonesia's food technology experts. It has indicated that the Indonesian food science students are really competitive at the international level, especially in ASEAN.
To be qualified to represent Indonesia for 13th ASEAN Food Conference 2013, the team of IPB students have undergone through two selection processes as appeared in the 2nd season of The Indonesian Food Bowl Quiz Competition 2013 program. The event was led by HMPPI and PATPI, and cooperated jointly by KMTPHP-UniversitasGadjahMada, HIMATEKH-Unsyiah Kuala, HIMITEPA-InstitutPertanian Bogor, Yogyakarta STIPER HIMATEHAPE-Institut, HIMAGIHASTA-University of Jember, and HIMALOGISTA-Mulawarman.
The first process or selection was organized for regional selection and were implemented at the in 5 (five) regions: Sumatra, Greater Jakarta, West Java, Central Java-DI Yogyakarta, East Java, and Borneo in April 2013. More than 50 teams from various universities in Indonesia participated for the selection. The second process was the national selection, the semi-finals and final stage. The national selection was held at GadjahMadaUniversity, Yogyakarta, on 17-19 May 2013. A total of 12 teams from 5 (five) regions were selected for the second or final selection. PATPI, as a jury has announced that the first winner was the IPBteam, and as winner they were qualified to represent Indonesia for the 4rd ASEAN Undergraduate Quiz Bowl 2013.
