Socialization of KKNI at IPB
A lot of global cooperation which had been signed by Indonesia caused many things which should be prepared by Indonesia to deal with. One of them was to prepare the qualified human resources. Thus it was said by the Team Coordinator of the National Qualification Framework of Indonesia (KKNI) Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs Directorate General of High Education, Ministry of Education and Culture RI, Megawati Santosa, in front of around 190 Auditors of IPB, in the program of Socialization of KKNI 2012 which was held in the Office of Audit Internal IPB in the Seminar Room of the Faculty Senate of Campus IPB Darmaga. (13/9).
Further it was said that currently it had been a long list of foreign doctors and nurses which had been ready to enter West Java. “Therefore it is very important for us to prepare the same thing with the foreign party if we do not want to become the slave in our own country” she said.
Prior to the formation of the Presidential Decree No 8 in the Year of 2012 about the National Qualification Framework, it was very difficult to equalize the qualification of education in Indonesia with other countries, so that its impact, often the appreciation of another country toward manpower of Indonesia, was very low because it was rated to have no appropriate qualification.
Moreover it was added if every qualification level could be achieved through another line outside the formal education line, so the formal education should more indicate its accountability in producing the graduates in accord with the strata which was programmed. The qualification level mentioned in the Presidential Decree No 8 consisted of nine levels of qualification, starting from level 1 as the lowest level to the highest level, which was level 9. Level 1 to level 3 were grouped in the operator positions, while level 4 to level 6 were grouped in the technician or analyst positions, and level 7 to level 9 were grouped in the professional/expert positions. So that ahead in every requirement for job vacancy was no longer the educational level which was requested but the qualification level. (dh)
