Bank Syariah Mandiri (BSM), one of the bona fide Islamic bank in Indonesia has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) in Meeting Room of Rector, at the Darmaga Campus, on 19 April 2011.  Vice Rector for Resources and Development, Prof. Dr. Ir. Herman Siregar, on behalve of Bogor Agricultural University and Ir. Hana Wijaya, MM, Director of BSM, signed the MoU. The MoU contains a commitment to recruit prospective graduates of Faculty of Economics and Management, at an early stage for the posts at the BSM through recruitment system “Goes To Campus & Early Recruitment Program.

The BSM has a good financial system. I hope the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) BSM will be granted  to the students of Bogor Agricultural University, as a lot number of students of Bogor Agricultural University are from  middle to lower social classes.  Many of them are economically disadvantaged but they have good  academic performance. ", said Prof. Herman Siregar in his remarks.

According to him, the University really welcome the  willingness of BSM to recruit its students.  As for the last few years Faculty of Economics and Management has been developing  a course on Islamic Economics, therefore, it would be appropriate if these graduates will take careers in BSM.

Meanwhile, Ir. Hana Wijaya in her remarks stated that she planned to select the fresh  graduates for BSM. In addition, CSR funds of BSM will be granted as scholarships for less fortunate students. These funds will also be utilized to develop  minibanking at Bogor Agricultural University. "I’m also interested to provide funding support for students who already have  businesses  or built SMEs in the University. So far, BSM has released funds amounting to 1.02 trillion Rupiah, 90% of  which  were distributed to finance agricultural fields", she said
