The GPA of IPB Graduates above 3.0 on Average

IPB again presents its graduates as qualified human resources who are ready to build the agricultural sector in the broad sense. In the third stage of graduation in the Academic Year 2010/2011, IPB confered certificates to 800 graduates, consisting 28 graduates of doctoral degrees (S3), 86 graduates of Master of Science, 27 graduates of Masters in Management, 10 graduates of Professional Master, a graduate of Master of Science in Information Technology for Natural Resources Management (MIT) and 648 graduates of S1 degree at Graha Widya Graduation (23 / 2).

On this occasion, Rector said that overall the cumulative grade point average (GPA) of IPB graduates in the last three years has indicted improvement. The average GPA of a graduate with S1 degree program at IPB for 2010 is 3.13, higher than that (3.02) of 2009 (3.02) and that of (3.01) 2008. While the average GPA of the graduates in the post graduate programs tends to fluctuate. The master’s program (S2) in 2008 had the GPA of 3.64 and 3.60 in 2010, while the GPA in the doctoral program (S3) was 3.80 in both 2008 and 2010.

"In addition, the average study period the undergraduate students from 2008 to 2010 tended to be shorter. The average length of study pursued by graduates in 2010 was 50.21 months. This figure is much shorter than the figure in 2009 (52.36 months) and the number in 2008 (52.17 months). A decreased average study period also occurs in the Graduate School Master programs," he said.

Of 648 graduates in the S1 degree programs, the best graduate is Annisa Vania of the Study Program of Science and Food Technology, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, with the highest GPA of 3.98 and the predicate of Cum Laude. (mtd)
