Ancora Foundation Provides Scholarships for Students of IPB

Ancora Foundation provides scholarships for the undergraduate (S1) students of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). This was expressed by CEO of Ancora Foundation, Atria Rai in the signing of the Cooperation Agreement on Monitoring of GPA and Administration of Educational Fees as well as Certificates of Students receiving the Ancora Scholarship between IPB and Ancora Foundation, on Thursday (17 / 3) in the Darmaga Campus of IPB.

"We are committed to providing educational financial assistance for students who excel, but are economically less inadequate. If there are any students with rather inadequate academic achievement but with strong and active leadership in organizations, we are ready to provide them with scholarship assistance," Atria said. Potential leadership, Atria added, become the major emphasis because not all students have this potential.

"To reduce the abuse of our scholarship, we deliver it directly through the institutions," Atria said.  The scholarship will include the cost of living, educational fees, and the completion of thesis for ten students.

So far Ancora Foundation has focused on the scholarships for further education in S2 (Master programs) in the field of public policies in both home and foreign countries, so the total quota of scholarships for S1 students is limited.

In response, Vice Rector of Academic and Student Affairs IPB, Prof.Dr.Ir.Yonny Koesmaryono said that any amount of scholarships awarded by the donors will be accepted as well as possible. “We will accept it to help with the economy of our students. But if we can give suggestion, if you would like to give scholarships intended to alleviate the cost of living, it should be adequate in the amount. The adequate cost of living in Bogor is approximately Rp 400 thousand per month," said Prof. Yonny. (Mtd)
