IPB and Pekalongan work together

Bogor Agricultural University and Government of Pekalongan Regency signed Memorandum of Understanding at the Rector’s Office, Andi Hakim Nasution Building, 2nd Floor, Darmaga Campus of IPB Bogor. The event proceeded at 1300 -14:00 pm., Friday, October 1, 2010.
 
Head of Pekalongan Regency, Dra. Hj. Siti Qomariyah, MA and her staff were greeted by IPB Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Herry Suhardiyanto, M.Sc. and officials of IPB in the guest room.

In Rector’s work room, H. Waladan Mardijja as the Master of Ceremony opened the event with a prayer. Then, he invited the Rector of IPB and the Head of Pekalongan Regency to sign the document. After the signing, in his speech Rector of IPB Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Herry Suhardiyanto, M.Sc said that he was pleased to realize this cooperation. He also expressed his closeness to Pekalongan in his childhood:  he visited Pekalongan on a motorcycle with his beloved father.

Meanwhile Dra. Hj. Siti Qomariyah, MA in her speech said that Pekalongan needs a lot of knowledge to be able to build and develop the region. To achieve the goal, Government of Pekalongan Regency takes steps to establish cooperation with several universities, one of which is IPB. She explained that this intention has been around for a long time. She also mentioned Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Bunasor Sanim and Dr. Ir. Arif Satria who have long assisted to facilitate the realization of this cooperation.
 
The event was also marked by the handover of souvenir and taking photos together in front of IPB logo "Searching and Giving the Best" directed by the photographer of IPB Bambang Andrianto. Besides the IPB officials attending the event, a number of IPB experts in their respective fields were present such as Dr. H. Nizar Naslullah, Dr. H. Sukanta, Dr. Hj. Alinda, Dr. H. Bonny PW Sukarno, Dr. H. Hartoyo, Dr. H. Rinekso and many others that we can not mention one by one. (Wld-mtd)
