Center for Research and Development of Entrepreneurship (P3K) of LPPM IPB Facilitates Small-Medium Businesses with Financial Institution
The Business Incubator of (P3K), at the Institute of Research and Community Services, Bogor Agricultural University (LPPM-IPB), cooperates with the Ministry of Cooperatives and small-Medium Businesses, the Republic of Indonesia in the activities called ‘Building Innovative New Entrepreneurs through Incubators’. One activity is the Training on Facilities of Small-Medium Businesses with Financial Institutions held on Thursday (29/7) in Hotel Pangrango 2 Bogor. “This is the first training of its type. It is a series of the trainings offered previously,” said the Head of Committee, Prof. Purwadaria Karya. At present P3K of IPB is also enforcing green technology for the small-medium businesses under its assistance in an effort to save energy. P3K of IPB tries to facilitate the solution to all constraints faced by the small-medium businesses concerning technology, human resource and finance. A similar view is also expressed by Head of LPPM-IPB, Prof. Bambang Pramudya.
Prof.Bambang explained the strategic role of small-medium businesses in the national economy. “So far the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small-Medium Businesses of RI has developed and assisted the small-medium businesses supervised by IPB. The number of small-medium businesses in Indonesia is much higher that that of large companies. The workers involved are much larger in number, thus the role of small-medium businesses is very important in driving the national economy,” said Prof. Bambang.
Small-medium businesses often have constrains in getting initial capital, improving human resources and marketing. “In the training yesterday we tried to solve the problem of human resources, and now we are trying to overcome the problem of capital by facilitating through the financial institutions such as PT.Sucofindo, PT.Astra Mitra Ventura, PT.Sarana Jabar Ventura and Jamkrindo,“ said Prof.Bambang.
The Deputy Assistant for Research of Small-Medium Businesses at the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small-Medium Businesses, Ir. Martono Djohari, MABM, motivated the training participants to seriously work on any task. “When a piece of work is completed, do another. The most important is to work smartly and sincerely. We should work without the feeling of under pressure and burden. We should work to serve for Allah SWT. I hope this training will produce creativity and improve our capacity and skills,” he said. He further explained, to improve the quality of small-medium businesses, it is necessary to develop research-based IPTEK (Science and Technology).
After the introductory speech, the training materials were presented among other by the representatives of PT.Sucofindo, Arief Satari; PT.Sarana Jabar Ventura, Abdul Chamid and PT.Astra Mitra Ventura, Ubaydillah and Kelana Indrajaya. In the training , the owners of small-medium businesses tried to understand the chance of obtaining credits or loans from private institutions and practice to complete the forms for credit request based on the types of businesses.
