Rector of Paramadina University of, Anis Baswedan, Ph.D. urges new students at the Faculty of Human Ecology, Bogor Agricultural University (FEMA-IPB) to become an optimistic generation that has the courage not only to criticize but also to provide solutions. "Do not be a pessimistic and critical generation who criticizes and  discusses the failures, without a solution," Anis appealed in the Stadium General "The Role of Higher Education in the Contribution of New Civilization", Thursday (5 / 8) at the Auditorium of Community Nutrition and Family Resources, FEMA IPB . Youth should not keep asking and complaining about not being given a chance, but they must think of new ideas from great dreams, and are prepared to put them into reality. The progressive youths, according to him, are those capable of balancing variables supporting successes such as innovation, networking, technology and natural resources. Of the four variables, it is innovation, networking and technology that take the greatest contribution. Further, if indeed we want to establish a new civilization, then we should develop its young generation because young people are thinking about the future. "The role of higher education in the new civilization is to accelerate new discoveries, increase the number of doctoral graduates and scholars among the young, improve the level of communication and provide potential young consultants for the progress of the country, not mere projects," said Anis.

In his speech, Dean of FEMA IPB, Dr. Arif Satria mentioned a number of achievements of the last five years. "Although still very young, FEMA has made many accomplishments at both national and international levels. FEMA has proved that the field of Human Ecology gives great benefit to Indonesia and the world," said Dr.Arif.

Meanwhile, Vice Rector of Research and Cooperation IPB, Dr.Anas Miftah Fauzi representing IPB Rector, stresses the role of Human Ecology in national development. "Human Ecology also contributes significantly to a just, self-reliant and sustainable development," said Dr. Anas (mtd)
