ARM HA IPB University Gives Eid Gifts to 200 Families of Cianjur Earthquake Survivors


IPB University Alumni Association (ARM HA) Independent Volunteer Action distributed Eid gifts to 200 families (KK) of earthquake survivors in Mangun Village, Mangunkerta Village, Cugenang District, Cianjur Regency, (15/4). The delivery of the gifts took place at the ARM HA IPB University Mangunkerta Emergency Response and Disaster Recovery Post.

The aid was handed over directly by members of the Board of Trustees of ARM HA IPB University, Ir Ali Fatoni and member of the Supervisory Board Dr Pungkas Bahjuri Ali, witnessed by the General Chairperson of ARM HA IPB University, Ir Ahmad Husein, MSi, Chair 1 Dr. Imam Teguh Saptono and administrators for Volunteer Management , Ir Eko Supriyatno.

Dr Pungkas Bahjuri Ali, who is the Director of Community Health and Nutrition at the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) in particular, also handed over 12 Eid gift packages to village volunteers. The majority of them are young youths, who for almost 5 months have helped the ARM HA IPB University team in distributing relief goods in the region.

"This Eid gift is part of the Cianjur Earthquake Recovery Phase Program that we have planned," said General Chairperson of ARM HA IPB University, Ir Ahmad Husein, MSi. According to him, towards the end of the fasting month of Ramadan 1444 Hijriah, alumni of IPB University were moved to make the earthquake survivors happy, some of whom are still living in tents and temporary shelters.

He revealed, the condition of the survivors themselves is still apprehensive. Some are still living in refugee camps, while some others have taken the initiative to build self-help temporary shelters (huntara). A small number have received help from government shelter units.

In Mangunkerta, ARM HA IPB University in collaboration with the Thoyiba Tora Tour & Travel congregation has just completed a new drilled well with a depth of 40 meters to help supply the residents' clean water. Another new drilled well unit was also built in Sarapad Village.

"In total, ARM HA IPB University has built four drilled wells in Cugenang District, two units each in Sarapad Village, one unit in Mangunkerta Village and one unit in Benjot Village," he said.

In addition, in collaboration with Wahana Muda Indonesia (WMI), ARM HA IPB University has also completed the construction of 31 shelters from the planned 25 targeted units.
