Agromaritime Sociopreneur Academy 2025 IPB University, CEO School to Avocado School

The Directorate of Agromaritime Community Development (DPMA) of IPB University held a Studium Generale Agromaritime Sociopreneur Academy (ASA) 2025 at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) (4/26).
ASA 2025 programs include CEO School, Young Agripreneur Camp, Drone Mapping School, Quality Youth School, Coffee Commodity School, and Avocado School.
In his speech, Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria committed that IPB University will continue to equip students with relevant competencies to face future challenges.
“This event is very useful to equip students so that they can hear first-hand experience from entrepreneurs and sociopreneurs,” he said.
Prof Arif Satria also said that the concept of innopreneurship – a combination of technopreneurship and sociopreneurship – is the main key in encouraging innovation based on social value and technology.
“Therefore, IPB University students must be able to create new innovations that are economically profitable and have a direct impact on society,” he said.
Furthermore, Prof Arif reminded about perseverance in pursuing the entrepreneurial path. He said that true failure is not when someone falls, but when he stops trying.
“The effort to continue to succeed means always trying, despite ups and downs. People who are always successful are those who have persistence, persistence, and grit,” he added.
Director of PMA IPB University, Dr Handian Purwawangsa said that the Agromaritime Socio Academy (ASA) 2025 program was in wide demand with the number of applicants reaching 409 people.
This year, there is a new sub-program, namely Avocado School. This program contains agribusiness-based trainings and connects participants with the business ecosystem developed by IPB University and strategic partners on 2.000 hectares of land.
“At the end of this year, the school participants will also have the opportunity to harvest around 300 hectares of land. This is a great opportunity for participants to learn and build a social business ecosystem in the avocado sector,” he said.
Dr Handian continued, IPB University also encourages students to go directly into the world of exports. He mentioned that currently IPB students have successfully exported areca nut to India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.
“IPB University students have also successfully exported sweet potatoes to Singapore and Malaysia with a demand of up to 20 tons per month,” he said.
Dr Handian hopes that this program can continue to give birth to young sociopreneurs who are able to coordinate local farmers to be more advanced. “That way, the young businessmen will not only gain profits, but also ensure the welfare of farmers,” he said. (dr) (IAAS/LAN)
