Guimaras State University Philippines Explores Academic Cooperation with Graduate School of IPB University

The Graduate School (SPs) of IPB University received a delegation from Guimaras State University (GSU), Philippines, consisting of Prof Rhea Joy D Flora and Dr Vivian Segobre (4/17).
The delegation was also accompanied by the Coordinator of Cooperation of Vocational School (SV) IPB University, Dr Aidil Azhar. The visit was welcomed directly by the Dean of SPs IPB University, Prof Dodik R Nurrochmat and Vice Dean for Academic, Student Affairs, and Alumni Prof Yusli Wardiatno.
In an atmosphere of intimacy, both parties discussed various opportunities for strategic cooperation in the fields of education and research. Some of the topics discussed included the plan to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and its implementation.
Programs such as double degrees, credit earning, implementation of joint summer courses, collaborative writing of scientific articles are among the implementations of cooperation that are scheduled together. This collaboration is intended to strengthen the capacity of institutions.
“IPB University, through SPs, is very open to international cooperation initiatives, especially with universities in Southeast Asia. This activity is expected to pave the way for student and lecturer exchanges, as well as strengthening academic networks between institutions,” said the Dean of SPs, Prof Dodik.
Prof Yusli Wardiatno invited the GSU delegation to make a joint proposal for funding double degree cooperation or summer courses to institutions such as SEARCA or other donor sources.
“This visit is an important first step in building long-term collaboration between IPB University and GSU, in order to support the development of quality, inclusive, and globally oriented higher education,” he added. (HBL/Rz) (IAAS/ASY)
