A total of 28 inbound students from Japan, South Korea, France, and the Philippines had exciting and memorable experiences during the exchange program at IPB University from August to December 2024.
Various interesting activities have been carried out to introduce them to Indonesian culture, deepen academic knowledge, and strengthen international relations between students from various countries.
“One of the activities that inbound students participate in is the commemoration of August 17. They participated in the Indonesian independence ceremony and various traditional competitions. The atmosphere of togetherness and warmth in this celebration further strengthens the sense of unity among exchange program participants,” said Puji Mudiana, SP, MA, Director of International Education at IPB University.
In addition, inbound students also participated in the Healthy Morning Walk event held at IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor. Not only to maintain fitness, this activity can also be a moment to enjoy the natural beauty around the campus of IPB University.
“Through Jalan Pagi Sehat, inbound students are given the opportunity to interact more closely with local students while enjoying the fresh morning air,” Puji continued.
Last but not least, an industrial visit was made to PT Amerta Indah Otsuka in Sukabumi. The students visited one of the leading companies in Indonesia, known for its iconic products such as Pocari Sweat and Oronamin-C.
“There, they were able to see first-hand the production process, the latest technology, and learn about the company’s commitment to quality and sustainability,” Puji said.
In addition, the inbound students also participated in the International Education Festival, an event that introduces various international cultures on the campus of IPB University.
They showcased the unique cultures of each country, while introducing various traditions, specialties, and traditional dances to local students and festival visitors.
As a highlight of the exchange program, inbound students participated in Agrisymphony, an event that combines art and cultural performances with an agricultural theme.
They were involved in various in-depth activities about the innovation and development of the agricultural sector in Indonesia, while experiencing the atmosphere of art that blends local with global culture.
This five-month exchange program not only provides academic experience, but also enriches their life experiences.
Inbound students who come from various countries can go home with unforgettable memories, strengthen relationships between countries, and open their global horizons.
