The Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) of IPB University successfully held The 2nd Agribusiness Capstone Project Expo 2024 entitled “Innovation Collaboration in Downstream Inclusive and Sustainable Agribusiness”.

This activity is the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) curriculum which is the final stage of the implementation of the capstone course, after carrying out activities at the partner for three months.

The event was held at the Corridor of the Faculty of Human Ecology (Fema) of IPB University, not long ago. This activity aims to improve the practical ability of students in solving agribusiness problems in an innovative and sustainable way.

The expo activities displayed 48 student works, consisting of innovation products, written works, and policy documents as a strategy for agribusiness development. This expo was attended by the Agribusiness Department community and capstone implementation partners.

When opening the event, the Vice Dean of FEM IPB University for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni, Dr Wita Juwita Ermawati conveyed the importance of the Capstone Project in the 2020 Curriculum.

“This project is designed to be a provision for students in implementing knowledge in the field, improving competence, and facing future challenges,” she explained.

Meanwhile Dr Burhanuddin, Chairman of the Agribusiness Department, expressed his hope that this activity will continue to be a forum for the development of innovation for students.

“This Expo shows how students are able to integrate knowledge with practice in the field, as well as supporting sustainable agribusiness development,” he said.

As a representative of the capstone partner, the Regional Research and Innovation Development Planning Agency (Bapperida) of Bandung Regency represented by Budi Darmawan also appreciated this activity.

“The internship done by students has given a positive impact in various villages. We are very grateful and hope that this activity will continue in the coming years,” he said.

Meanwhile, the enthusiasm of students and visitors was seen during the expo activities. “We hope this activity can be more lively and involve more parties in the coming year,” said one of the students.

The expo is also enlivened with awards to the best group and door prizes for the lucky visitors. Visitors can interact directly with students, dig deeper into the ideas and innovations displayed.

With support from various parties, The 2nd Agribusiness Capstone Project Expo 2024 is expected to be an important step in producing competent and highly competitive graduates in the agribusiness sector. (NA/Nr) (IAAS/TIA)
