IPB University Won Four Awards at the International Kyoto University Symposium 2024

IPB University again showed brilliant achievements in the international arena. Of the 12 awards given at the Kyoto University International Symposium on Education and Research in Global Environmental Studies in Asia, IPB University managed to bring home four awards as Best Poster Awards.

The award recipients included Eryani Cahya Pratiwi, an undergraduate student of the Land Resource Management (MSL) Study Program. Furthermore, Purwantiningrum, a student of the Master of Regional Planning Science (PWL) Study Program. 

Then Novella Giovanni, student of Double Masters Degree Program PWL IPB University-Kyoto University, and Yuri Ardhya Stanny, Researcher of Center for Planning and Regional Development Studies (P4W).

“This success is not only a pride for IPB University, but also proves that the capacity of Indonesian students can compete internationally,” said Vice Rector of IPB University for Research, Innovation, and Agromaritime Community Development, Prof Ernan Rustiadi.

The President of Kyoto University in his speech revealed that this event became a collaborative event between leading researchers and academics from various countries. The event took place at the Royal University of Agriculture, Cambodia recently. 

“Our focus is to address global challenges while improving the quality of the education curriculum at partner universities. This event invites researchers to share ideas through research poster presentations, collaborative research, and panel discussions,” he said.

In the panel discussion, Prof Ernan also gave his strategic views. “This collaboration is an important means for comparative studies and exchange of innovative ideas for the improvement of global education,” said the Vice Rector and Academic Coordinator of IPB University’s Cooperation with Kyoto University.

The symposium was also attended by Dr Nurhayati Arifin and Dr Andrea Emma Pravitasari who acted as cross appointees of the collaboration between IPB University and Kyoto University. 

In addition, IPB University is also trusted to host the Kyoto University International Symposium which will be held in 2025. (*/Nr) (IAAS/RUM)
